Skiving can be fun! This website seems to have a big appeal with people that are skiving at work, not just in the UK but all around the world. People want to spend a virtual million on our site and kill some of that boredom factor. Office skiving is fun too, remember kids. We get a lot of emails like this:

Hi. Just wanted to say thanks for your website. I was really f**king bored at work. I had a ton of paper repositioning to do, staplers to refill and watercoolers that needed vodka added them.. When I came accross your website… Just want to say thanks for filling 22 minutes of my day with my own sun drenched, happy-days-to-come skiving. Am sure that one day I will get out of this sh**hole and get that daydream house abroad and pet tiger… But for now its back to tormenting my colleagues, until the next skive… (Clare XXXX, Rotherham)
Although this email from Clare is quite humourous, there really seems to be an element of truth in it: Spendamillion.com seems to be addressing her need to escape the working environment, daydream of the future, whilst remaining physically within workplace.
This in-office skiving is an example of the ability to daydream and escape to your own private world. Speaking to my psychologist friend Tony Allan he suggest that it might even be essential for our sanity:
“Daydreaming in the office can be a personal control mechanism and not necessarily a bad thing, it allows the individual to regain control of their thought space, reassert themselves and their identity to their internal dialogue and image”
Wikipedia, even suggest that daydreaming is healthy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daydream Though too much of it can be bad! Is it daydreaming the same as skiving? when does a daydream become a skive?
So is spendamillion.com the first of a new set of web tools that allow us to play out and “practice” our daydreams? Or is any excuse to skive what we are after?
Go on, start skiving, daydream and have fun.
